2020 UN Report on E-Waste

E-waste is a big problem and a big opportunity, and here is a big report (120 pages) about it! There is a large potential salvage value in electronic goods (gold, copper, aluminum, rare earths, etc.) if we can figure out how to extract them economically. We are exploring various ways to make the electronics industry more circular instead of a meandering path from mines to landfill. In 2020, the report authors calculate that 17.4% of electronics were safely recycled. Our mission is to get this to 100% by 2050.
